This represents about a 10th of the paper requirement. Due to the size of the order the printers only what part deliveries at a time. However this needs to be closely managed. St. Neots Under 9's Match report 22nd November 2009
On a bright and sunny day St Neots U9’s set off to conquer the world starting with Dunstablians. Unfortunately, some one had annoyed the weather Gods and by the time we got to the ground the clouds had obscured the sun and the wind had decided it wanted to come out and play.
Sadly we had one or two boys down with various sicknesses and had only nine on the day, which meant that there was no opportunity for the boys to have a rest (or get cold) unless they were injured. In the first game we started a little slowly, (why do we always do this especially away from home? I think I need to change the warm-up routines) but finished the stronger losing a close game 10 – 5 which we nearly drew with Liam being unfortunate in losing the ball as he crossed the try line. Sadly we lost Thomas for the second half with a slight ankle injury, but Dunstablians kindly supplied a sub for us.
During the second game we were again down with injured players losing both Alex and Morgan at various times. This time we also Lost 10 – 5 but Liam held on to the ball to score as the last act of the game. By this time Wind’s friend Rain had decided to join the party and decided to play the lets get everyone soaking game, and the referee heroically blew the whistle for full time as when he looked back after the try was scored it was clear that there were only 5 properly fit players wearing blue.
Well done to James who was awarded player of the week. The trophy was around but at the other end of the clubhouse.
Special mention to Jaidon and Morgan who both put in very good performances, and the two subs from Dunstablians Reece and Matthew
Training next week, I believe that it will be the same as last week, but Colin will have a fuller set of Coaches. Watch out for Ian, Jim and I reffing one of the older sides as part of our course.
Special guest reporter. Bryan

Print Hound first day in the Micro Print Factory, St.Neots
Well after months of training and obedience lessons we have welcomed our newest member of staff. Leia the Print Hound arrived for her first day at work. She is naturally on a 3 month probation, but all going well so far. After initial introductions to fellow members, a tour round the repro department and studio Leia seemed to understand that it would be hard work, often stressful and certainly no holiday. Woff Woff!!!

This week was no Holiday for the St. Neots Under 9s as Colin was taking our boys through a gruelling training Regime with the Under 10's. Lots of decipline going on as well as some hard drilling. The boys seemed to enjoy the more physical elements and stood up well to the bigger under 10's. Next week is over at Dunstable.

Print Hut have recently been approached by a night club venue to produce a variety of snow flakes to be pasted up and around the entire venue for the forthcoming christmas season. These will be produced in a variety of sizes and die cut out to shape on a preprinted reel 20 metres long. The production is expected to take 5 working days after which the self adhesive vinyl shapes will be easily peeled off the reels and applied throughout the venue.

St. Neots Under 9s Mini Rugby Match Report 08.11.09
This week St.Neots under 9s were at home hosting a mini tournament between Olney Rugby Club and Oundle Ruby Club. Jims match summary was spot on this week, not that is never is: The St. Neots boys started off as a Rabble but ended up at a Rugby team.
The first match saw St. Neots having a nap and gave away two early tries needlessly with poor passing and zero commitment. However things began to improve with St. Neots presenting the ball well on the ground with the forwards beginning to show signs of their understanding of the importance of driving over the ball. The backs also held their lines well and worked hard to find the space, though often were let down by sloppy passes. All in all we saw a much improved side during the later games with the team using their support well. Solid rucking and mauling by the forwards was also looking more uniformed which led to possession being won on more than one occasion. Tackling which in previous matches has been half hearted looked more decisive with the boys gaining confidence, with the help of Bryans vocal chords!!!
All four games were entertaining rugby with close results and with a little more passing play, improved timing of the pass there is no reason why we can not convert these close results into wins.
Jim and Bryan picked out some individual play during the summary whilst man of the match was awarded to Thomas who gave us a champagne moment in the last game. A hard must do tackle 10 yards from our line, was followed by possession, good team passing and a final individual run to the line.
Well done boys....

My youngest son asked why we celebrate Guy Fawkes as the arsonist and not the bloke that found him with the 12 barrels of explosives. Good question son I replied.
Anyway some trivia on Mr Fawkes then;
Born: 1570 in York. Yes, Guy Fawkes was a Yorkshireman.
Baptised: 16th April 1570 at Saint Michael-le-Belfrey, York.
Died: 31st Jan 1606 at Old Palace Yard, Westminster.
Schooled: Saint Peter's in York.
Fawkes left England in 1593 or 1594 for Flanders. He enlisted in the Spanish army under the Archduke Albert of Austria. Fawkes held a post of command when the Spaniards took Calais in 1596 under the orders of King Philip II of Spain.
November 5, 1605, Fawkes was arrested in the cellars of Parliament House.
In 1606 Parliament agreed to make 5th November a day of public thanksgiving and ever since then the day has been celebrated with fireworks and bonfires.

The role of targeting in door-to-door campaigns is very simple: it is to help you reach the people most likely to respond, and avoid wasting money on delivering mail to those who won't.
The end result of targeting should be to increase your campaign's response rate, and therefore your return on investment. Don't waste money
For any given door drop, only a proportion of people will respond to an offer. Reasons for not responding may be many. Here are a few common reasons:
They may not actually want or need your product or service - vegetarians won't respond to news of your Burger Bar! Your timing may be wrong - they may have just bought that conservatory!
If you deliver a mailing to anyone who fits any of the above, you are wasting your money. Targeting will help your door drop be more relevant to the right people.
Where are your customers?
Door drops don't need name and address details of customers, so they're ideal for acquiring new customers, building awareness, or generating trial.
Instead you target your mailing by choosing areas where response to your offer should be highest. To do this you first need to understand what type of people your target audience are - their profile - and where they tend to live.
Profiles and postcodes
Put simply, a profile is a set of characteristics that help identify and group your target audience. Profiling customers is invaluable, because people who have similar tastes and needs tend to live in similar areas - which means if you know where your audience tends to live, you should be able to find more of them.
You can profile in a number of ways:
Look at existing customers and analyse their buying habits. Can these be extrapolated to find other, similar people in the area?
For new businesses, sometimes profiling is common sense (for example, a new supermarket will usually door-drop the area that surrounds it), but you can also be more lateral in your approach: if you know your customers buy brand x, you can find more people like them using more sophisticated tools like (TGI), which holds profiles of people who buy major brands.
Royal Mail Audience Selector
Generally, the more accurate your targeting, the better the results. Advanced targeting systems such as Royal Mail Audience Selector offer sophisticated methods to help find the right people to talk to. Audience Selector helps you:
Use criteria-based profiling tools such as MOSAIC to target prospects: age, income, and social, economic, cultural and behavioural data can all help define where different types of customers cluster
Use Postcode analysis to help match customer profiles to postcode sectors
There's also a bespoke modelling service available, to produce as tightly targeted a list as possible.
What size of area can you target?
Royal Mail Door to Door - our nationwide door-drop distribution service - allows you to deliver to just about every door in the UK. But obviously you can target specific areas such as:
Individual postcode sectors, consisting of approximately 2,500 households. A postcode sector is the first half of the postcode and the numeral in the second half, for example: OX7 6--.
Any of 1,500 postcode districts, denoted by the first half of the postcode only: OX7 ---.
Any of 122 postcode areas, denoted by the first two letters only: OX- ---.
Post towns, as they appear in the address
One or more counties
England, Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland
The whole of Great Britain - only Royal Mail delivers to the entire country
You can also target around:
Radio catchment areas
Commuter routes around a specific area
TV regions
Or any combination of the above

The last keyword that you'll need to consider when printing your marketing literature is 'First Steps'. How easy is it for the consumer to make that initial contact. Or as the big boys call it ' CTA'- Call To Action. This channel of communication is imperitive and needs to be unfussy and simple. Think! Do you want the printed item to lead the buyer onto a website for more details. Maybe you want the buyer to fill out something and return it in the post, or is it case of the recipient picking up the phone to activate the promotion. If the later go for a Freephone number. These are extremely cost effective and could cost as little as £10.00 a month.
